April Ross

April Ross was one of the few female beach volleyball players who have won medals at multiple Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games and will attempt to win her third Olympic medal. Ross is hoping to secure her Olympic the first medal of gold but she's also hoping for greater. Perhaps it is her last opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. She is still confident nevertheless. Ross was mentioned in NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very highest, and even play well we will get the gold. Then I will also take some chance. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in 1982. Her parents and her sister resided there. The athletic pursuits she pursued began at Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several different sports. She was a basketball player and also ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. She clearly was the top player in indoor volleyball. As a high school volleyball career as per her college bio, she was a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. For her efforts she was awarded an 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her due to her volleyball skills. Ross Klineman and Ross may have started working together in 2017, but Ross was an experienced player at the beach before they joined forces. In reality, she was a winner of several major championships while playing with two different partners, one of which is an icon of volleyball. In the period 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Kessy and Ross were a formidable force in the world circuit, winning the 2009 World Championship together. They took home a Silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. They were beaten out for the gold by the legendary group of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. In 2016, the pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Following high school, and for a few many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross played to the Trojans at USC while a collegiate. It was a successful performance for Ross during her time at the school. She was an All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year when she was a teen freshman. Her Trojans also reached the Final Four. After her sophomore year she suffered a devastating personal loss, yet managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. In her final two seasons with the Trojans they helped to win two consecutive titles. She was a great volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female volleyball player at the college level. Ross, who was a USC international relations student was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross did not see her daughter achieve the heights of the beach volleyball ladder. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001, when Ross was an USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. She still holds her mother very dearly. Margie, on the beach and in daily life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
