Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is an Canadian actress from Canada. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was in the role of Flora McGrath. For this role she received an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of 11. She is the second-youngest winner in Oscar History. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded her the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the enthusiastic and lively girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) was the reason she won the prize. When she responded to a request for auditions, she was able to audition when she was nine and having no prior experience acting, she won Flora McGrath's role. Flora is the child of the Scottish pianist who was mute. They relocated to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to plan a wedding. In her teens, Paquin relocated to America. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. She also played the lead role in Fly Away Home, a movie from that same year. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
